Brad & Barb Settle

Mission Location: Nyamakombu, Tanzania
Commission Date: 1996
Mission Organization: Africa Inland Mission International
Our Missionaries: Brad, Barb, and their children relocated from Winona Lake, Indiana to Tanzania in 1996 to minister to the Datoga people there in Nyamakombu. Since their arrival, 5 local churches have been started and are currently under the care of a national pastor, Timothy. In 2005 the Nyamakombu Primary School began as a pioneering outreach ministry, offering a unique opportunity to share the gospel and nurture children for the glory of Jesus Christ (learn more about the Nyamakombu Primary School by watching the video Tanzania: Building a Generation for Christ). Brad and Barb are currently on home assignment here in the US, seeking to raise up a church planting team to minister to a new people group in Tanzania.
Our Mission Point: After 12 years of working among the Datoga people, the Settles have seen 5 churches started and led by a national pastor under the oversight of a national denomination, as well as a christian school constructed and established with national teachers. Brad and Barb are now looking to replicate these endeavors among the Kuria people of nothern Tanzania. The Kuria are a war-like people of roughly 300,000 with little to no Gospel presence.
Barriers to the Gospel
- Remote living conditions
- Need for teammates
- Hostile people groups (cattle raiding, vigilante justice)
