The church in Laodicea was materially wealthy. The people were prosperous and needed nothing. But they made Jesus want to vomit. They didn’t realize they were “wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked” (vs. 17).
It isn’t a sin to be wealthy, but often when we can take care of ourselves, we are tempted to forget God. We feel self-sufficient. We feel independent. We feel proud. We make Jesus want to vomit.
But Jesus invites us to “do business” with Him, offering us the riches and clothing of righteousness through His grace alone. Join Pastor Nate McLaurin as we look at Jesus’ letter to the last church, Laodicea, in Revelation 3:14-22.
