Sunday Review, 10.06.2019

Below are some notes from this past weekend if you weren’t able to join us:

  • Pastor Marc continued our “Building Up” series and shared God’s Word with us from 1 Corinthians 12:27-31. You can listen to it, or download it, by going here: Sovereignty, Selectivity, and Longing
  • Each Sunday, we hand out “Children’s Bulletins” to help kids pay attention and benefit from their time in the worship gatherings. If you’d like to see Sunday’s “Children’s Bulletin” and potentially use it as a way to jog your memory of ways you could follow up with your child about the gathering, you can find it by going here: Children’s Bulletin from 10.06.2019

  • LIFE EDUCATION HOUR (9-10 a.m.) | In our Life Education classes, our children and teenagers are working their way through the Gospel Project curriculum.
    • This week, they did an overview of the book of Hosea.
    • The Big Idea from that story was: God is faithful to His people even when they do not love Him.
    • The memory verse was 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”
    • The “Big Picture Question and Answer” were: Q) Why should we obey God? A) Because He made us, He loves us, and His plans are good.
    • Here’s a PDF of the cards that were handed out to children as they left class: Hosea Big Picture Card
  • WORSHIP SERVICE | During worship service, our 2s-Kindergarten classes are working their way through The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible.
    • This week, they learned from Genesis 25:19-34 about how God Chose Jacob.
    • The Key Truth was: “God’s choice is a surprise.”
    • The memory verse was 1 Corinthians 2:27 – “But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise;
      God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong.”
    • The Application Question and Answer were Q) Did you know God doesn’t choose the strongest or the best? A) God chooses people who need Him. He chooses weak and sinful people like Jacob, and you, and me. Thank you God, for your surprising choice!
