Sunday Review, 10.14.18

Below are some notes from this weekend if you weren’t able to join us:

  • Pastor Marc shared God’s Word with us from John 13:1-20, the start of what some call the 2nd “book” of the Gospel of John, the “book of glory.” As we begin this second half, we continue our  John: Love that Gives sermon series. You can listen to it, or download it, by going here: John: The Omnipotent Foot-Washer.
  • Each Sunday, we hand out “Children’s Bulletins” to help kids pay attention and benefit from their time in the worship gatherings. If you’d like to see yesterday’s “Children’s Bulletin” and potentially use it as a way to jog your memory of ways you could follow up with your child about the gathering, you can find it by going here: Children’s Bulletin from 10.14.18

  • Our 2-5 year olds classes are working their way through The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible. This week they learned from Genesis 28:10-22 & John 1:51 about how Jacob has a Dream. Key Truth – God showed Jacob the way to heaven. Memory Verse – “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised.” (Genesis 28:15) Application Question and Answer: Q: Do you know the way to heaven? A: Everyone who trusts in Jesus will live with God in heaven. Jesus will take God’s people to the place where all God’s promises are true all the time. Have you trusted in Jesus?
  •  The large group Kindergarten-4th grade class is following along with the current sermon series to learn alongside of those in the worship service, but in ways that are more applicable for their age and learning styles.
