When you turn the page of your Bible from the last book of the Old Testament (Malachi) to the first book of the New Testament (Matthew), it’s easy to miss just how much actually happened between the times that those two authors took up their pens. And while many historical events took place during that 400 year period, the most notable may be something that didn’t happen–God speaking to His people.
For four centuries, God’s people experienced the silent treatment from God – no prophets, no new messages, nothing. But all that was about to change. As we return to our One Book series, we’ll see how God broke that silence in the most amazing way – by literally entering into the story that He had been writing. Join us as we take a look at Matthew’s record of the life of Jesus, the One who fulfilled everything to which the Old Testament had been pointing.
