Men’s Ministry

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”

1 Corinthians 16:13

As a church that holds to complementarian convictions, we believe that God has created men and women in distinct ways. So we want to provide contexts of discipleship that help encourage men to grow specifically as men. Read below to get a glimpse into how we do that.

THE GATE

Every three months or so, we host a gathering for the men of the church, which we call “The Gate.”

In ancient times, the gate of a city was a prominent location where many things would take place. It served as an intersection, marketplace, and court room among other things. The older men of a city would sometimes sit there and pass wisdom on to those who were younger than them.

So, our gatherings of “The Gate” are intended to be an intergenerational time of fellowship among men, where those who are older can relationally connect with and invest in those who are coming behind them in the faith. These gatherings are fairly informal and usually involve times of bonding over shared experiences (bonfires, disc golfing, tomahawk throwing, etc.), instruction/exhortation from the Word that is geared specifically toward men, and prayer together for each other as we strive to grow into the men God made us to be.
