Our Vision, Venues, and Values
Our Vision
As a church, we strive to reach the nations and the generations with the gospel of Christ.
-
God desires—and deserves—worship from people of every nation. Yet there are countless people groups in the world today among whom there is no gospel witness. So we are committed as a church to doing all that we can to send and support field workers who take the gospel to those unreached people groups.
-
God also desires—and deserves—worship from people of every generation. The gospel of Christ isn’t merely to spread geographically; it’s to endure chronologically. So we are committed as a church to doing all that we can to pass the gospel down in time to those who are coming behind us, teaching them to trust and serve Christ just as we have.
Our Venues
We encourage everyone in the church to be involved in three “venues” of discipleship—each of which is essential to our growth as followers of Christ.
-
We gather on Sunday mornings every week as a church family to worship God together. Participation in this gathering is vital for our spiritual health, because the various components of our gathering (prayer, singing, the reading and preaching of the Word, sharing of gifts, etc.) are used by God to remind us of the gospel, bind us together as a family, and build us up in the faith.
-
While Christian community can be sincerely experienced in worship on Sunday mornings, it is more intimately experienced in the contexts of smaller circles. So, we desire that every believer be part of a community group—joining with the other members of their group to stir each other up in faith and spur each other on in obedience toward Christ.
-
Christ came to earth “not to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28). We are to follow His example and use the gifts He has given us to serve our brothers and sisters in the faith. We want to help every believer discern his/her gifts and utilize them in service of the church.
Our Values
Every church has a unique “feel”—certain traits they are marked by more than others. While there are dozens of biblical values that we want CCC to be marked by, there are seven we want to be particularly prominent in our life together:
Grace
Truth
Love
Family
Godliness
Joy
Dependence
