Youth Ministry

As we disciple middle and high schoolers at CCC, we want to prepare them for the rest of their lives as members of a local church.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

From 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. each Sunday in our Student Center, middle and high schoolers work together in small groups to read and discuss the passage of Scripture that will be preached by the pastor during the worship service that follows. While this may seem redundant to some, it’s a purposeful exercise to teach students to wrestle with a text so they can properly interpret and apply it. After students process the passage, then they are able to participate in the worship service at 10:15, and hear the pastor unpack the very text their minds and hearts have been pondering during Sunday School.

YOUTH GROUP

As we train young men and women to become healthy members of the local church, it’s vital that they learn to live in Christian community with their peers. So, each week throughout the year, we have “youth group”—where students gather together for a time of fellowship and large group instruction, but then break off into smaller groups led by adult volunteers, where they can share about their lives and pray for one another. It is in this context of small groups that deep relationships are forged and strong bonds are established.

During the school year, youth group begins at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings at the church.

During the summer, youth group begins at 6:00 p.m. and is hosted at different families’ homes.

SERVING

As young men and women grow toward maturity and participation in the life of the church, it’s vital that they learn to serve. Adolescence is a time where many young people expect to be served by others, but we want the students of CCC to be marked by their service of others. So, we strive to help them learn to identify the gifts that the Lord has given them, and to use those in the service of the church. That may mean being a greeter, joining the worship team, helping serve coffee, or working in our children’s ministries alongside adult volunteers.

EVENTS

Throughout the year, we host various events for students and their families. These include things: Youth Camp in the summer, retreats in the fall or winter, and service projects. We greatly value the role of parents in the lives of students; so we encourage them to participate in various gatherings and events throughout the year.
