PICNIC SUNDAY 2024
We’d love to have you join us for our “Picnic Sunday” on September 8th!
We will be having our weekly worship service on the back lawn at 10:15 a.m., and then everyone is invited to stay for lunch! The main dish will be pulled pork and pulled chicken, provided by Shawnanigans.
We’re asking those who join us for Picnic Sunday to bring a side or dessert, according to the first letter of your last name. Those can be dropped off in the lobby as you arrive.
A-D: A side of some sort (mac/cheese, baked beans, etc.)
E-G: Veggies
H-J: Fruits
K-M: Salads (pasta, regular, broccoli, etc.)
N-O: Chips
P-R: Cookies
S-U: Brownies
V-Z: Pie
Please label if you know your item contains peanuts. And try to provide at least 8 servings.
We will be asking specific individuals/families to bring gluten free options.
A few additional things to note as you prepare for Picnic Sunday:
The last few years, we’ve done “Food Truck Sunday,” but this year will be much more simple. No need to RSVP in advance, to get tickets, stand in incredibly long lines, etc. We hope it’ll be a more pleasant experience for everyone!
We’ll have a large tent in the back lawn that morning with tons of folding chairs underneath it. But if you’d like to bring your own chair or blankets, you’re welcome to!
Plan to bring a Bible with you, if you have one. We’ll be starting a new sermon series that morning!
We’ll provide printed lyric sheets for the morning’s songs, so you can sing along with everyone. Check back here the week of the Picnic, and we’ll have a digital lyric sheet as well.
Once you’ve arrived that morning, you can drop your food contribution off in the lobby and then head around outside to the back lawn for worship.
During lunch, we’re planning to have a dunk tank. So if you’d like to soak the pastors or staff, be working on your aim!
